Week Six in Review

After their first 5-game road winning streak in franchise history, the Denver Nuggets returned home for a very tough set of games.

But first, after some much needed days off, Denver traveled to Sacramento to take on the struggling Kings. Denver took care of business with a 122-93 victory. Danilo Gallinari celebrated his new contract with a 23 points to lead all scorers. Seven Nuggets were in double figures which included Gallinari, Nene, Kosta Koufos, Ty Lawson, Andre Miller, Al Harrington and Corey Brewer. Chris Anderson was close behind with nine points.

Denver returned home to take on another struggling team in the Toronto Raptors. Denver made easy work of the Raptors with a 96-81 victory. Rudy Fernandez made a triumphant return to action from an Achilles injury for a season high 23 points. Gallinari added 21 points despite going 2-10 from behind the arc. Nene added 20 points and 10 rebounds.

Things got a little more difficult for the Nuggets as the Los Angeles Clippers came to town which marked the return of Chauncey Billups to the Pepsi Arena. Denver was outscored by 10 in the final corner which ended up being the difference as Denver fell 109-105. Mr. Big Shot had 32 for Lob City and Nene led Denver with 18 points and 9 rebounds. Miller filled in for the injured Ty Lawson with 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Finally, Denver was back on the road in Memphis where the Grizzlies snapped a four game losing streak with an overtime victory over the Nuggets 100-97. Denver was again outscored in the fourth quarter; this time it was by seven points. Denver held Memphis to only 37 points int he first half but surrendered 54 in the second. Al Harrington scored 23 points and added 10 rebounds with Miller scoring 20 points.
