The NBA draft lottery is complete and the Denver Nuggets have the No. 7 overall pick. The Nuggets also hold the No. 15 and No. 19 picks, but we're focusing on their first selection. With the draft order now set, it's time to take a look at a few of the players the Nuggets could take early in the first round.
Two players you won't see on here are Ben Simmons and Brandon Ingram. While the Nuggets would love either, this is for realistic outcomes only. With that in mind, here 3 players the Nuggets could take with the No. 7 overall pick in the NBA Draft.
Jamal Murray, SG, Kentucky
This would work out perfectly for the Nuggets. In fact, there's actually a good chance that Murray is off the board. But the Nuggets can hold out of hope that Murray falls to No. 7. He'd be a strong fit next to Emmanuel Mudiay. Murray can shoot, something the Nuggets are lacking. Murray might be a better fit at shooting guard than point guard.
Jaylen Brown, SF, Cal
A highly-touted recruit, Brown has the athleticism and the raw tools to be a very good NBA player. However, he needs work on his shooting. He should be able to help out on defense early, something the Nuggets need. The Nuggets have Danilo Gallinari at SF, but how much longer he is with the team is unknown. At No. 7, Brown would be worth the risk and could turn out to be a great selection.
Buddy Hield, SG, Oklahoma
Hield won't turn into a dominant player like Stephen Curry, but could very well turn into an All-Star because of his shot-making ability. Hield can light it up, giving the Nuggets the bona-fide 3-point threat they lack. This is likely as far as he falls on Draft Day because of his ability to score. He's one of the most NBA-ready players in this year's draft.
