Take the first quarter and flush it down the toilet. The Humphrey fumble and ensuing touchdown were disappointing and it looked like Denver was on course, yet again, to play down to their competition. This was the kind of game, in recent years, that Denver would have found a way to lose.

The Broncos that showed up for quarters 2-4 was impressive. Bo Nix threw the ball downfield with the kind of confidence Broncos Country has been waiting for. It felt like once Denver had secured the lead, coach Sean Payton used the game to build the young quarterback’s confidence in stretching the field.
