When the Broncos traded away Emmanuel Sanders to the 49ers on Tuesday, they not only got rid of the last offensive player from their Super Bowl 50-winning team, they left a dearth of experience in their receiving corps.
The five wide receivers on Denver’s active roster have combined for a total of 122 catches, 1,635 yards receiving and nine touchdowns in their careers. One, former CU Buffs star Juwann Winfree, has yet to record a catch.
Most of that production comes from 2018 second-round pick Courtland Sutton, the clear-cut top guy among the Broncos’ receivers.
