The Broncos spent three long years in search of a stadium naming-rights partner.
The team’s deal with Empower Retirement, though, was completed in a few short months.
Broncos CEO Joe Ellis and Empower president and CEO Ed Murphy joined together Thursday outside the newly minted Empower Field at Mile High for a news conference to further discuss the 21-year partnership with the Colorado-based retirement solutions company announced Wednesday.
Ellis would not divulge the number of naming-rights suitors since Sports Authority declared bankruptcy in 2016, only saying a “handful” of legitimate contenders emerged and a “couple were close.
