No one wanted to hear how Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning, still hobbled by his foot injury at the time, traveled with his team to Pittsburgh Dec. 20 and spent more than a half-hour signing jerseys and tickets and almost anything fans hung from the first row of the stands at Heinz Field.
They didn’t want to hear it because he didn’t sign everything. Methodically, Manning picked over the Steelers’ signature yellow towels, favoring instead the blue and orange jerseys, the tickets, the posters, the gamebooks and hats.
