Quarterback Drew Lock returned to the Broncos’ practice field Thursday for the start of training camp after contract negotiations put his participation in question.
Lock, a 2019 second-round (No. 42) draft choice, was the last unsigned player from Denver’s rookie class and missed the players’ Wednesday morning report date. Lock would have been absent Thursday as well had the team and Lock’s representation at Creative Artists Agency been unable to reach a contract agreement.
But no holdout was necessary. Both parties agreed on a deal late Wednesday afternoon.
“I was anxious to get out on the field,” Lock said after practice.
