C.J. Anderson is feasting on scraps. At the moment, the fourth-year running back is an afterthought as the Broncos press their quarterbacks with a pass-heavy preseason playbook. So Anderson, like his backfield brethren, is taking what he can get.
“I know one thing,” Anderson said. “On a running play, when we call it, I know it’s coming directly to me, right in the belly, and it’s going to the same spot every time. I don’t have to deal with a strike zone they have to pitch.”
The Broncos, through two preseason games, are passing more than any other team in the NFL, with 44.
