Denver’s defense will be tested thoroughly Sunday against Kansas City.
One question facing the Broncos’ defensive unit is how much rookie outside linebacker Nik Bonitto will see the field. While position mates like Jacob Martin (43 snaps) and Jonathon Cooper (42) played extensively against Baltimore last Sunday in rotation with Baron Browning (50), Bonitto played just one snap.
That marked his lightest workload since not playing in Denver’s first two games and continued a trend downward from playing around 30 snaps per game to 21 against Carolina the previous week.
“Just continually work and continually show that he knows exactly what to do, where to go, when to go and play at a high level,” head coach Nathaniel Hackett said of Bonitto’s path back to more playing time.
