It was a comedy of errors.
Threatening at the Chargers’ 6-yard line, Broncos quarterback Case Keenum tried to thread the needle into the end zone, but his bullet pass was deflected and Los Angeles safety Jahleel Addae came up with the ball.
Addae ran out of the end zone and got to the 18-yard line when he tried a lateral to an unsuspecting teammate. The ball was loose and the Broncos recovered with a new set of downs at the 20-yard line.
Denver would end up making a field goal on the subsequent drive, to cut the Chargers’ lead down to 7-3.
