Mathew Stanwood made it to Broncos training camp Monday despite being diagnosed with cerebral palsy, a neurological disorder that has required multiple surgeries and kept him bedridden since June.
Mathew, a 14-year-old fan who struggles to walk a few yards, has been eager to see his favorite team for years.
Outside linebacker Von Miller made that happen.
“Sometimes he has difficulty with his anger,” said Jessica Stanwood, Mathew’s mother. “(He says things like), ‘You’re keeping me tied up in the house; you’re not letting me do anything.’ He didn’t understand you can’t do anything.
