Von Miller, Aqib Talib absent from first day of Broncos’ mandatory minicamp

All eyes searched for No. 58 as the Broncos opened mandatory minicamp Tuesday. Outside linebacker Von Miller was not present.

Miller, who traveled with the team to Washington, D.C., on Monday, has not signed his franchise tag and is not under contract with the Broncos, meaning he’s not subject to the normal fines associated with missing mandatory camp.

The Broncos and Miller have until July 15 to agree to a long-term extension or have Miller play 2016 under the franchise tag.

“We’ve made real progress over the last couple of days,” Miller told reporters Monday in Washington.
