Vandals mar DIA’s “Blucifer” sculpture with orange graffiti

Vandals have marred the behemoth sculpture of a reared-up and ready-to-spar mustang near Denver International Airport nicknamed “Blucifer” because of its blue color and glowing red eyes, DIA officials confirmed.

The vandals apparently felt the 32-foot-high horse of a different color ought to be at least partially orange. Someone sprayed light orange graffiti on its legs, Alex Renteria, DIA spokeswoman, said Friday.

The timing of the deed is somewhat suspicious considering the Denver Broncos – with orange and blue colors – are gearing up for the 2019 football season with its first game Monday against rival Oakland Raiders.
