The Denver Broncos fielded one of the worst defenses in the National Football League last season. In fact, it was one of the worst defensive performances in franchise history rivaling the 2010 season. They ranked 27th in points allowed and 29th in yardage allowed. With respect to their pass rush, the Broncos were tied for 21st in the league with 42 sacks. Regard run defense, they gave up the third most yards and a league worst 5 yards per carry.
Defensive Coordinator Vance Joseph received a lot of criticism for the unit’s horrific performance in 2023—rightfully so.
