Broncos wide receivers coach Tyke Tolbert is the first offensive coach to be retained by new head coach Vance Joseph. Tolbert turned down an offer from the Tennessee Titans to become their wide receivers coach in order to stay with the Broncos, according to a source close to the situation.
Tolbert, who is entering his 15th NFL coaching season, has coached two 1,000-yard receivers for five consecutive seasons (Eric Decker and Demaryius Thomas 2012-13, Emmanuel Sanders, Thomas 2014-16).
Sanders and Thomas became the seventh duo in NFL history to eclipse 1,000 yards in three consecutive seasons. Thomas has the longest active streak of 1,000-yard receiving seasons with five.
