HOUSTON — It's a "Hard Knocks" Life in Houston. The Texans, seeking attention and greater brand recognition, agreed to serve as the featured team in HBO's behind-the-curtain look at the NFL.
Gary Kubiak, while in Houston, never favored the idea. His successor Bill O'Brien acquiesced. As such, we've learned he likes a tough team, the F-word and rapper Rick Ross. The raw nature of this program makes the NFL more appealing. It humanizes players, shows the merciless Darwinism of training camp.
The grind spares no one. Effort is required for admission. Excellence is necessary to stay on a roster.
