The Broncos' secondary has been like a Christmas tree missing a few branches over the past few weeks. Injuries in the safety corps have left Denver scrambling to sign street free agents — now three with the addition of Shaun Prater — to provide depth.
Well, they are starting to get some help. Safety T.J. Ward returned to practice Wednesday for the first time since suffering a high-ankle sprain in the first quarter of a Nov. 29 overtime win over the Patriots.
Ward moved around on that ankle well and his continued progress in practice throughout the week will have a big impact on his playing status Monday versus Cincinnati.
