ENGLEWOOD, Colo. – The Denver Broncos got the good news they had hoped for about compensatory draft picks.
They now have 10 picks in hand this April, four in the prime real estate of the first three rounds and five in the first four rounds.
Because compensatory picks can be traded beginning in 2017 – that has not been allowed by the NFL in the past – the league is awarding the comp picks to teams two weeks earlier than in previous years, when they annually announced the picks at the league meetings in late March.
