It’s no surprise that linebacker Drew Sanders was placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list Sunday just ahead of training camp after he tore his Achilles in an OTA practice earlier this spring.
“Fortunately, it was an early enough timeline we’ll bring him back,” head coach Sean Payton said in May. “I don’t want to say October, but the good news is the surgery was done, it was clean. There wasn’t anything complex about the injury, and it was just something unusual.”
Though Sanders will not return to the field before the regular season begins, the Broncos are hopeful he may make it back before the season is over.
