Thompson, Janovich represent true return of fullback to the Denver Broncos

Head Coach Gary Kubiak returned home well over a year ago and with him came the thought that the Denver Broncos would immediately return to the run-heavy offense with a fullback leading the way. The same offense that brought the first two Super Bowl Championships to Colorado. That even seemed to be the plan for training camp last year, but ultimately it was not meant to be.

This season, it appears that Kubiak will have a beefy backfield to attempt to wear the opposition down. Instead of hybrid tight end/fullbacks like James Casey and Joe Don Duncan, the Broncos drafted a true fullback in Andy Janovich and transitioned big halfback Juwan Thompson into an almost exclusively fullback role as well.
