Sylvester Williams will be counted on to provide stability for Broncos’ interior

While not a player with star-name recognition, Vance Walker was counted on heavily this season. The veteran lineman was especially valuable for his versatility, playing not just as a defensive end on the Denver Broncos three-man front, but also as the nose tackle.

“It’s just a freak incident,” said a disappointed Sylvester Williams. “It’s going to be a tough loss for us. I know that he’s a tough guy and I know that he’ll fight through whatever it is. I’m praying for him and I’m excited to get in there and check on him.”

With the loss of Walker to an ACL tear, Williams, in a contract year, will have to step up in that nose tackle role and potentially even slide out to end occasionally.
