Shaquil Barrett returns to practice, could be back for opener

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- The Denver Broncos have been forced to work around some injuries on defense thus far in the preseason, but they got a sliver of good news Tuesday.

Outside linebacker Shaquil Barrett practiced for the first time since May. Barrett had spent OTAs, minicamp and the preseason to this point on the non-football injury list because of a right hip injury -- a partially torn labrum -- he suffered while working out in the offseason.

Barrett was moved to the active roster Tuesday morning and did individual drills for the most part.
