Sean Payton wants to see more consistency on defense

The Denver Broncos defense started off hot against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 1. They were strong against the run, forced several safeties, and for the most part kept Geno Smith in check. It was definitely a bright spot for the team early on. Alas, the execution in the second half wasn’t nearly as good.

As a result, the Seahawks were able to score three touchdowns on three busted plays. Two of those were the touchdown runs by Smith and Kenneth Walker. The other was Zach Charbonnet’s catch-and-run for a score. If even one of those plays could have been stopped, the Broncos very well likely would be 1-0 instead of 0-1 to start the season.
