The Broncos’ confidence is as high as it has been all season.
It was noticeable after Denver stood pat at the trade deadline and on Monday morning when head coach Sean Payton continued to preach optimism in the wake of back-to-back wins entering his team’s bye week.
“I feel like we’re a better team today than four or five weeks ago,” Payton said.
After Denver’s deflating 70-20 loss to the Miami Dolphins in Week 3, Payton said the team needed to look inward to climb out of the 0-3 hole they dug for themselves. Since then, the Broncos are 3-2 with a home victory over the Kansas City Chiefs — which snapped a 16-game losing streak to the reigning Super Bowl champs.
