The Denver Broncos hired Davis Webb to help resurrect the career of Russell Wilson after a subpar performance under Nathaniel Hackett and his coaching regime during the 2022 season.
From a statistical perspective there was a significant improvement. That cannot be argued. Alas, despite the fact Wilson certainly played much better in 2023, the overall results of the offense were rather lackluster. Thus, the franchise opted to move on from the long-time veteran quarterback and pursue someone else to lead their offense in 2024.
A few days before the 2024 NFL Draft kicked off, the Broncos acquired Zach Wilson from the New York Jets.
