Johnny Unitas, Baltimore Colts to San Diego Chargers, 1973
Unitas, a three-time MVP who played in two Super Bowls for the Colts, was dealt to San Diego at age 40. He went 1-3 in four starts (five games) for San Diego before retiring and going to on the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Joe Namath, New York Jets to Los Angeles Rams, 1977
Namath spent his first 12 seasons with the Jets, winning Super Bowl III over Unitas’ Colts, before being traded to the Rams for his final season at age 34.
