Every time Eric Studesville got the call, he figured that might be it, let the search for a new job begin.
Since January 2010, when the Denver Broncos hired Studesville as their running backs coach, the team has employed five head coaches and three offensive coordinators. Each shift prompted uncertainty for Studesville’s future.
“Every time there’s been change, that’s been the thought,” Studesville said. “There’s been no guarantee of anything.”
But Studesville, 50, has done more than manage to stick around. He enters his eighth season in Denver this fall as the elder statesman of the Broncos’ coaching staff after turning down an offseason offer to become offensive coordinator with the New York Jets.
