SAN FRANCISCO — NFL commissioner Roger Goodell on Friday said the league does not have an open, independent investigation into Peyton Manning's alleged link to human growth hormone. The NFL, Goodell said, will instead keep that probe in-house.
"When we find out the facts, we will share them," Goodell said, as part of his annual pre-Super Bowl state of the league news conference. "We want to make sure we're transparent."
Goodell did not elaborate on what facts, if any, it had discovered in its private review of Manning. The NFL said last week that it was weeks into a review of the allegations against Manning, according to league spokesman Brian McCarthy in an Associated Press report.
