Roger Goodell: A lot of work to be done before NFL approves Las Vegas

MINNEAPOLIS — Commissioner Roger Goodell says there is “still a lot of work to be done” before the NFL considers Las Vegas as a possible destination for a franchise.

Goodell spoke before the Minnesota Vikings hosted the Green Bay Packers on Sunday night, three days after a Nevada oversight committee voted to recommend spending $750 million in public money on an NFL stadium. The project is being discussed to lure the Raiders away from Oakland.

Goodell says it is ultimately up to the owners to decide if Las Vegas is a viable city to host the NFL.
