Former New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is no stranger to World Wrestling Entertainment. The 30-year-old former NFL star made his WWE debut at WrestleMania 33, helping Mojo Rawley win the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.
On “WWE Backstage” Tuesday, Ryan Satin said Gronkowski was close to finalizing a deal and could make his first appearance on March 20 on “SmackDown.” Conveniently two weeks before WrestleMania 36 takes place in Tampa, Fla.
However given coronavirus concerns causing the mass stoppage of many sports, from the NBA to Major League Baseball to March Madness, the fate of this year’s WrestleMania could be up in the air.
