Gone are the days of months-long rookie holdouts because of contract disputes.
Punter Riley Dixon, Denver's seventh-round draft pick was the first Broncos drafted rookie to sign. He signed a four-year deal Wednesday.
The rookie scale sets each player's contract, making it highly unlikely for a deal not to be done by training camp. The rest of the Broncos' draft signings should be completed by the end of the month.
Dixon is expected to provide competition for incumbent Britton Colquitt for the team's punting job. Colquitt is scheduled to make a $3.25 million salary, with a $4 million cap hit according to Spotrac, in the final year of his contract.
