According to 9NEWS Denver’s Mike Klis, Denver Broncos safety Jamal Carter had an MRI on his hamstring this morning. The second-year safety injured it during the Broncos preseason opener last night and he could miss an extended period of time according to Klis.
Carter who is a 6’1”, 215 lb safety who signed as an undrafted free agent last year with the Broncos was battling for the Broncos fifth safety spot. He seemed like the favorite for it and was locked into a roster spot because of his role and play on special teams.
Earlier this month, Head Coach Vance Joseph called Carter a “core special teams guy” so an extended absence would hurt the Broncos special teams unit.
