Report: Montee Ball told friends that he's signing with Colts sometime soon

Free agent running back Montee Ball said he will sign with the Colts sometime soon, according to Will Petersen of MileHighSports.com.

Ball, 24, was waived by the Broncos Sept. 6. He cleared waivers and has since been a free agent.

Ball tweeted "wheels up" yesterday, perhaps suggesting a flight.

Originally drafted by Denver in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft, Ball went on to lose starting jobs to Knowshon Moreno and C.J. Anderson. His two-year stint with the Broncos was marred by injuries, as he only dressed for 21 games (starting three).
