According to General Manager John Elway, the Denver Broncos will place rookie second-round quarterback Drew Lock on the short-term injured reserve.
This means that Drew Lock will be out the first eight weeks of the season before being eligible to be activated come week nine. Lock is dealing with a severe hand sprain that he suffered against the 49ers during the preseason that is expected to be keep him sidelined for 6 to 8 weeks according to Elway.
This is a tough blow to Lock who needed all the development he could get this offseason.
