Instead of three cones, Preston Williams is going to have to figure out how to navigate the logistical hurdle the NFL just plopped in front of the former Colorado State standout.
“Of course, he’s frustrated,” Williams’ agent, Michael Swenson, told The Denver Post on Thursday, confirming reports that the Rams’ leading wideout was told he wouldn’t be invited to the 2019 NFL scouting combine. “But he’s just that much more determined. Whatever opportunity that’s thrown his way, he’s just going to crush it. He’s using it as motivation.”
NFL Network reported Thursday that Williams — a Tennessee transfer who led CSU in catches (96), receiving yards (1,345) and receiving touchdowns (14) last fall — and Mississippi State defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons were not invited to the combine because of incidents in their past in which they were accused of violence against women.
