ESPN’s Outside The Lines published a bombshell report Tuesday alleging the Patriots videotaped opponents from 2000-07, that Roger Goodell knew about it and worked to cover it up, and that the Deflategate scandal was a mere make-up case for the handling of Spygate, in 2007.
The report, released three days after Patriots quarterback Tom Brady won his appeal against the NFL and had his four-game suspension for his role in the Deflategate scandal overturned, cites interviews with 90 sources and alleges New England taped opponents’ hand signals in 40 different games.
Among those were the Colts, then led by quarterback Peyton Manning, who faced the Patriots 12 times in the regular and postseasons from 2000-07.
