Peyton Manning avoids setbacks, hopeful of practicing, playing in Broncos' final game

Overshadowed by Peyton Manning's strong denial of human growth hormone (HGH) use, the quarterback worked out Sunday in the Pat Bowlen Fieldhouse and remains hopeful he can play in the Broncos final game against San Diego.

As part of an interview with ESPN featuring Manning's passionate assertion "he never cut corners," the five-time NFL MVP explained he practiced four consecutive days without a setback on his left foot, a significant step forward in advance of a scheduled meeting Tuesday with coach Gary Kubiak.

"I am trying to get healthy and get back on the field next week and go from there.
