Peyton Manning's heartfelt retirement speech included a shout-out to New England Patriots fans.
Toward the end of Manning's remarks, he was speaking about everything he'd miss about playing football. That's when he turned to self-depreciating humor, saying, "I'll even miss the Patriot fans in Foxboro. And they should miss me, because they sure did get a lot of wins off of me."
Manning was emotional during his speech, fighting back tears at times. He referenced linebacker Tedy Bruschi, Bill Belichick and former Patriots defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel, among others, in his remarks. Those mentions were made as Manning discussed how he enjoyed competing against middle linebackers and defensive coaches from a strategy perspective.
