On the eve of training camp in 2014, Broncos president Joe Ellis and general manager John Elway spoke somberly about their beloved owner Pat Bowlen as he fought Alzheimer’s and relinquished day-to-day control of the team.
Two years later, Bowlen’s fight continues, and his vision for his team remains in place.
“Mr. Bowlen’s doing pretty well — as well as you can be fighting a really, really tough disease,” Ellis said in his annual pre-camp address Wednesday. “It still remains very difficult for Annabel and the children and obviously for him, but them as caregivers. It’s just unfair.
