Clark County Commission Chair Steve Sisolak tweeted Thursday morning that the Oakland Raiders have filed their paperwork with the NFL to relocate to Las Vegas.
The team told NFL officials last week that they had commitments from Goldman Sachs to finance a proposed $1.9 billion Las Vegas stadium project even without the help of casino magnate Sheldon Adelson. Securing a solid financial plan was one of the key steps in getting the proposed 65,000-seat domed stadium built. The current financial plan would include $750 million in Clark County hotel room tax revenue, $650 million from the Adelson family and $500 million from the Raiders and the NFL.
