After riding high on victories three weeks in a row, the Broncos crashed back to earth as its offensive talent level and defensive depth were exposed in a far more lopsided loss than the 23-16 score would indicate.
A 16-point surge by Bo Nix and the offense in the fourth quarter was exciting but short-lived. The offense’s nearly nine minutes worth of ball possession was almost half of its 22 minutes of possession the entire game.
“We didn’t run enough plays consecutively to get into a rhythm,” Nix noted. “It was a few plays, and you were off the field.
