The NFL said earlier this year that, in conjunction with Major League Baseball and the World Anti-Doping Agency, it planned to investigate the allegations in a December 2015 report by al-Jazeera that linked multiple athletes to performance-enhancing drugs. Former Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning was one.
The report said human-growth hormone, a substance banned by the NFL and illegal to prescribe outside of a few serious illnesses, was shipped to Manning’s home in Florida under his wife’s name. Manning vehemently denied using HGH on multiple occasions, but said he welcomed the NFL to investigate.
“Just like I said back in December, I do welcome it,” he said in late January.
