NFL owners proposed an 18 game schedule with a limit of 16 games per player

It was reported on Friday that the NFL owners proposed to the NFLPA an 18-game schedule, but with a catch. The catch is that there is a 16 game limit for every player. Obviously meaning that you would at least need to bench every player on your 53-man roster for at least two games.

That’s a bit wild.

The idea has been percolating for years; finally, the NFL has proposed to the NFLPA the idea of an 18-game season with a 16-games-per-player limit https://t.co/uuACShJr47

The obvious motivation for such a move is revenue.
