For only the third time in 38 NFL years as a player or coach, Mike Munchak is the new guy.
The presumed runner-up to Vic Fangio in January to become the Broncos’ coach, Munchak was hired as offensive line coach less than a week later, the team pouncing on his and his wife’s desire to be closer to family.
Munchak has overseen a semi-overhaul of the line — the Broncos are projected to have four players at new starting spots compared to last year’s Week 1 lineup. Connor McGovern has moved from right guard to center, Ron Leary from left guard to right guard, right tackle Ja’Wuan James was signed in free agency and Dalton Risner was drafted to be the left guard.
