Just before the end of the third quarter, the Broncos’ offense was inching close to midfield before a couple of busted plays stopped the drive.
The first was a fumble on the snap on 2nd-and-2. On the next play at 3rd-and-3, Bo Nix took a shot at the end zone with his old Oregon teammate and fellow rookie Troy Franklin Jr.
The pass was on the money, but Franklin let it slip through his hands, and Denver had to punt, still up by a relatively comfortable 10 points — but with a full quarter to play against a division rival.
