The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport began the network’s draft coverage announcing that the Denver Broncos were in talks with the New York Giants for the #2 overall. The Giants ended up selecting Saquon Barkley with the pick.
John Elway denied the trade discussion after the draft, but we’ll discuss what most likely happened.
Prior to the draft there was also a rumor that the Broncos were in discussion to trade a second round pick to the San Francisco 49ers for right tackle Trent Brown (who Von Miller called the best right tackle in the NFL last season).
