Linebacker Brandon Marshall’s six-year tenure with the Broncos is likely over after the team decided it will not exercise a contract guarantee ahead of next month’s deadline, which will lead to him becoming a free agent.
On Twitter, Marshall said: “Much love for Broncos Country! Still not over yet, but being injured (two) out of the last (three) years after the Super Bowl killed me! But that’s life. I’ll land on my feet as I always do.”
ESPN was first to report the Broncos’ decision.
It is unlikely Marshall would return at a lower salary or the Broncos would have made an effort to re-structure his contract.
