SAN DIEGO — It looked like a smear of raspberry jam, the ugly pool of blood collected just under the skin of Trevor Siemian’s left shoulder as he stood in the Broncos’ locker room at Qualcomm Stadium on Thursday night. Denver’s offense, much like its wounded young quarterback, is ailing too.
In consecutive losses within five difficult days, the Broncos have run into their toughest stretch since 2011, when they lost three games to end the regular season with Tim Tebow at quarterback. With Siemian under center Thursday against the Chargers, the Broncos managed to score only 13 points.
