As it turns out, John Elway is not only better at football than cornerback Chris Harris Jr., but also more adept at crunching numbers and doing the math.
While the Broncos embraced a new way of doing business in a big way on the NFL’s first official day of free agency, a defiant cornerback on the wrong side of 30 discovered the hard way Elway understood his economic worth as a football player way better than Harris did.
Long upset with Elway’s refusal to pay him $15 million per season, Harris was humbled in the open market, settling for a two-year deal with the Los Angeles Chargers worth a little more than $20 million total, according to multiple reports.
