The Super Bowl dreams of the Broncos are as busted as offensive tackle Ryan Clady's wounded knee.
"Just devastating," coach Gary Kubiak said Thursday, not long after learning the Broncos likely will have to play the 2015 NFL season without the services of Clady, the Pro Bowler at left tackle due $10.6 million this year. "I just feel bad for Ryan."
There's no way to sugarcoat it. During a meaningless May practice, a freak injury tore the left ACL of Clady and left an already suspect Denver offensive line in tatters. This is horrible news.
"I'm kind of the only man left standing," said veteran guard Louis Vasquez.
